CME by State National Medicinal Plants Board and Karnataka Biodiversity Board in collaboration with KAMC

A CME was organised by State National Medicinal Plants Board and Karnataka Biodiversity Board  in collaboration with Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, Ashoknagar, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on 04-02-2023. The main objective of this CME was to create awareness among the Indian Forest Officers and frontline officers like RFO DRFO,  Forest guards, regarding the medicinal plants, their identification, conservation and cultivation. 

Chief guests were Shri Ravi Kalappa, Chairman, Karnataka Biodiversity Board and Dr S M Shivaprakash, Former Dean, Fisheries College, Mangaluru.
Guests invited were Shri Sudarshan G V, Principal Chief Forest Conservation Officer and Supervisor, Bharatiya Aranya Seva, Smt Anita S Arekkal, Deputy Chief Forest Conservation Officer and Supervisor, Bharatiya Aranya Seva, Shri Prakash S Netalkar, Chief Conservator of Forest, Karnataka Forest Department, Mangaluru Division,  Bharatiya Aranya Seva, Dr Dinesh Kumar Y K, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Mangaluru Division, Shri Ganesh K, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Kuduremukha Wild Animals Division, Mangaluru, Shri Uday M Nayak DCF, Kundapura Division, (Forest MobileSquad),Mr.U.K.Khalid, Aministrative Officer,Dr Jacintha Meena D'Souza, Vice Principal, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, Ashoknagar Mangaluru.
Prominent speakers raised awareness regarding the medicinal plants. Dr Swapna Bhat, Professor and HOD, Department of Dravya Guna, PG studies and Research Laboratory, gave a talk on the topic 'Introduction to Medicinal Plants and their importance in Indian System of Medicine'.
A visit to PILIKULA Nisarga Dhama was also arranged for the delegates.
