On the occasion of Aati Amavasya, on 24-07-2025, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College,Ashoknagar, Mangaluru, (A unit of SCS group of institutions) Department of PG studies in Dravyaguna in collaboration with Department of PG Studies in Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana distributed Aati Kashaya to general public.
The distribution program started at 8 am with the lighting of lamp and invocation song.
On this occasion Professor Dr Swapna Bhat, Principal, HOD-Department of Dravyaguna, emphasised the importance of the popular age old tradition of drinking the Aati Kashaya on the Amasvaya of Aashadha, which has the main constituent as Saptaparna (Halemara) – Alstonia scholaris bark juice along with other components like cumin seeds, garlic etc. A general awareness regarding its sustained effects on the immunity system till the next Aashadha season was also explained.
Dr Ajith Kamath M., Vice-Principal, Administration, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Ashoknagar, Mangaluru, participated in the program along with the staff from Department of Dravyaguna and Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana. PG scholars well as UG students also took the Kashaya.
More than 150 people were benefitted by the program.
