GUEST LECTURE ON– WORLD AIDS DAY PROGRAM
The Department of Postgraduate Studies in Shalya Tantra, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, organized a special guest lecture on the occasion of World AIDS Day for the final-year BAMS students and postgraduate scholars. The event was held in the college on 1/12/25 at 3:00pm to 4:00 pm. Program aimed to enrich students’ understanding of the current advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and ethical care of HIV/AIDS.
The guest speaker for the day was Dr. Shreevarsha, M.S. (Ayu), Specialist Medical Officer, Government AYUSH Hospital, Jokkate. Her expertise and clinical experience added significant value to the session.
Dr. Shreevarsha delivered an insightful lecture on the topic “Advances in Prevention, Diagnosis, and Ethical Care of AIDS.” She highlighted the global and national scenario of HIV/AIDS, recent developments in diagnostic technologies, progress in antiretroviral therapies, and the growing emphasis on early detection and preventive strategies. The session also focused on the ethical responsibilities of healthcare professionals, including confidentiality, stigma reduction, and compassionate patient management.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging Dr. Shreevarsha for her valuable contribution and the management of KAMC, Principal Dr Sajith sir, Vice Principal Dr Ajith sir, Hod of shalya Dr Uday sir for their continuous support. The Department of PG Studies in Shalya successfully coordinated the event, ensuring a fruitful academic experience for all participants.
