The Department of PG Studies in Kayachikitsa, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital, Ashoknagar, organized a guest lecture on 11th February 2026 to observe World Cancer Day. The programme was based on the theme “United by Unique.”
The event was held in the presence of Dr. Hemanth Kumar, Consultant Medical Oncologist, Mangalore Institute of Oncology; Mr. U.K. Khalid, Administrative Officer, SCS Group of Institutions; Dr. Ajith Kamath, Vice Principal; Dr. Waheeda Banu, HOD and Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa; and Dr. Ravindra Bhat, Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa. Mr. U.K. Khalid, Chief Guest spoke on the importance of cancer awareness.
The guest speaker, Dr. Hemanth Kumar, delivered an informative lecture on the topic “Advances in Cancer Prevention and Management emerging trends in Diagnosis and Therapy” and highlighted that every cancer patient’s journey is different and assured that certain cancers are treatable with proper treatment.
The welcome address was given by Dr. Sahana M, Associate Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa, KAMC. The programme was hosted by Dr. Anitha S, Associate Professor, KAMC. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Savitha P, Assistant Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa, KAMC.

Faculty members, UG and PG students, and interns attended the programme and participated actively. The session ended with an interactive discussion with the guest speaker.
