In observance of World Environment Day, a plantation programme was organized on 6th June 2026 at the SCS Herbal Garden by the NSS Unit in association with the Department of Dravyaguna and the Department of Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana of KAMC, Mangaluru.
The programme commenced at 11:30 a.m. and was inaugurated through the planting of medicinal and Ayurvedic plants, symbolizing the commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable healthcare practices.
The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Suresh Y., Professor, Department of PG Studies in Agadatantra, Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College, Moodbidri. The programme was also graced by Dr. Ajith, Vice Principal, KAMC, Mangaluru.
Approximately 100 second-year BAMS students enthusiastically participated in the plantation drive. Various medicinal plant species were planted within the herbal garden, contributing to the enrichment of the institution’s green cover and herbal resources. The Department of Dravyaguna generously donated 10 medicinal plants for the plantation programme.
The programme successfully created awareness regarding environmental protection and highlighted the role of medicinal plants in maintaining ecological balance and promoting health.
Refreshments were generously provided by the Department of Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana (RSBK) for all participants.
The event concluded on a positive note with active student involvement and a renewed commitment towards preserving nature for future generations.
