*World No Tobacco Day 2026 Celebrated at Karnataka Ayurvedic Medical College, SCS Group of Institutions*
The Department of Agada Tantra, Tobacco Cessation Cell, and NSS Unit of Karnataka Ayurvedic Medical College, a constituent institution of SCS Group of Institutions, observed *World No Tobacco Day 2026* today (6/06/2026)The program began with a prayer by Kumari Sangeetha and Kumari Sanjana. Dr. Shabana B.S delivered the Welcome Address. Dr. Ajith Kamath M, Professor & Head, Department of Agada Tantra and Vice Principal, explained the significance of World No Tobacco Day and administered the Tobacco-Free Pledge to staff and students. Dr. Suresh Y, the Chief Guest, addressed the gathering on the medical, social, and behavioral aspects of tobacco addiction. He delivered an elaborate guest lecture on tobacco control and cessation strategies. Mr. U.K. Khalid, Administrative Officer, SCS Group of Institutions, delivered the Presidential Address. Dr. Surabhi P, Assistant Professor, Department of Agada Tantra, introduced the Chief Guest and felicitated him with a memento and appreciation letter. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Krithi N.K, Assistant Professor, Department of Kayachikitsa and NSS Programme Officer. The event was compered by Kumari Jahnavi Gondi. Faculty members, staff, and students participated enthusiastically and took the pledge to remain tobacco-free. The institution reaffirmed its commitment to building a healthy, tobacco-free campus and community through continued awareness initiatives.
