Hands on experience in Pharma Science at Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil
An outcampus visit was organised by Dept. of P.G. studies in Dravyaguna Vijnana, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, Mangalore to Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil on 14th May, 2026. Hands on experience in Pharma Science was organised by Department of Pharmaceutical Science, Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil at SCOP Auditorium. The formal program for the event was inaugurated by Chief guest, Dr. Swapna Bhat, Professor & Head, Dept. Of Dravyaguna Vijnana, KAMC, Mangalore and highlighted that in modern times, pharmaceutical science bridges the gap between traditional knowledge and scientific validation. It helps in standardization of drugs in Ayurveda and can prevent Adverse Drug Reactions developed due to the use of adulterated drugs while preparing medicines. The dignitaries on the Dias where Principal of SCOP, Dr A. R. Shabaraya, Faculties of SCOP Dr. Karunakara Hegde, Dr. Krishnananda Kamath. Formal function was followed by Hands on experience in Pharma Science Session at Pharmaceutic, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy laboratories. Students experienced animal handling, observed rotarod instrument, morris water maze apparatus, organ bath, spray dryer, lyophilic freeze dryer, flash rotary evaporator, disintegration apparatus, dissolution apparatus. Session on Soxhlet extraction,Chromatography, HPLC, Spectroscopy was very much informative.The concepts were explained in very precise and thought provoking manner to the Students of Second Professional BAMS (Batch:2023-2024) and PG Scholars by the Faculties of SCOP, Valachil.
Teaching staffs of Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, Mangalore who attended the program were Dr. Sridevi, Prof, Dr. Niyathi, Asso. Prof. & Dr. B. Shivani Rao, Asst. Prof. from Dept of Dravyaguna Vijnana, Dr. Savitha K. Bhat, Prof, Dr. G. Shwetha Prabhu, Asst. Prof., & Dr.Shreyas S. Kamath, Asst. Prof. from Dept of Rasashatra & Bhashajya Kalpana.
